Zagreb Lower Town: Private Tour + Coffee

Zagreb Lower Town + CoffeePrivate Walking Tour

Visiting Zagreb can be a walk in the park – literally! Lower town is famous for the lane of parks that we call „The Green Horseshoe“ and it offers magnificent views. Over a hundred years old trees, fountains, buildings in Neoclassical and Art Nouveau styles, galleries, museums, and our National Theatre are some of the places that the locals love the most and this walk will show you what makes Zagreb a central European metropolis. By the end of the tour, we’ll take a break just like locals would – enjoying a cup of coffee (or tea) in a nice cafe.

Secrets hidden in the hills

Secrets hidden in the hillsA weekend in Zagorje

If you’d like to spend a weekend in nature, relax and instead of looking at the screen, look at the lush greenery of Northwest Croatia, join us! On our weekend tour, we offer more than relaxation – a story of prehistoric times in this region and tasting of local wine and delicacies.

1. dan: GAVEZNICA – LUNCH – SPA

In the morning we head from Zagreb towards Gaveznica, a fossil volcano. In the last phases of its activity, semi-precious stones like agate, calcedony and opals were formed. Inactive for millions of years, this spot is ideal for a light walk and start of our story about the hidden treasures of the hills of Zagorje.
After a walk with a local guide, it’s time to discover the secrets of Zagorje through smell and taste – a wine tasting and lunch in one of the local wineries.
One of the treasures of Zagorje was appreciated since the times of the ancient Romans – thermal waters. Just like Roman soldiers, after exploring we will relax at a local spa. Free time and overnight.

2. dan: RADOBOJ – LUNCH – KRAPINA

After breakfast, first stop on the itinerary – Radoboj, near Krapina. The local museum Radboa tells the story of the long time ago, when these parts were a part of the Panonic Sea. The fossils of fish and tropical vegetation show the landscape much diferrent than the present one, but there are some similarities – the grapevine fossil, oldest of its kind in the world shows the presence of that plant here for millions of years! After the visit to the museum, we’ll take a walk on the “Orchid Trail” that holds an unexpected surprise from the prehistoric times. After the hike it’s time for lunch, accompanied by local wines.

In the afternoon, we visit another gem – the Neanderthal’s Museum in Krapina. The story of the prehistoric times in Zagorje and its inhabitants before the arrival of Homo Sapiens – the Neanderthals – is concluded with a guided tour of the museum after which we return to Zagreb.

Postojna Cave & Ljubljana: In the land of dragons

Postojna Cave & LjubljanaIn the land of dragons

Slovenia, a beautiful country set between Italy, Austria, Hungary and Croatia is known for its mountains, lakes, rivers and forests. First stop of our trip is the Postojna Cave, about 2,5h drive from Zagreb. A fantastic web of tunnels and halls, the astonishing diversity of Karst features, stalagmites that have been forming underground for thousands of years and creatures such as the olm, that live in the caves, guarantee to leave you breathless with wonder! After the visit to the cave, we continue the trip to Slovenia’s capital – Ljubljana.

Set alongside river Ljubljanica and below the castle atop a hill, Ljubljana offers a serene yet colourful atmosphere. Its centre has been closed for traffic so one can peacefully admire the beautiful architecture of buildings, Cathedral of St Nicholas or the many bridges across the river.  From the top of the hill, on a bright day, the view reaches the mountains in the distance, and with all the forests surronding the city, one can perfectly understand why it has been selected the 2016 Green Capital of Europe.

After some free time, we return to Zagreb.

Ljubljana & Bled: Highlights of Slovenia

Ljubljana & BledHighlights of Slovenia

Slovenia, a beautiful country set between Italy, Austria, Hungary and Croatia is known for its mountains, lakes, rivers and forests.

In the morning we leave from Zagreb towards lake Bled, set about a 2,5h drive from Zagreb. Enchanting glacial lake in the Julian Alps is breathtaking in any season, so it is no wonder that it was attracting visitors for many years. The best view of the lake and its surroundings is from a medieval castle, now turned into a museum, where you can learn about the history of Bled. The only Slovenian island is set on the lake, and can be reached by „pletna“, a traditional wooden boat. Once on the island, visit the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and ring the bell for good luck. Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere which has made Bled a very popular destination for relaxation of the rich and powerful, like the Yugoslavian royal family and later Tito.

A short drive away is Slovenia’s capital – Ljubljana.
