Zagreb Lower Town: Private Tour + Coffee

Zagreb Lower Town + CoffeePrivate Walking Tour

Visiting Zagreb can be a walk in the park – literally! Lower town is famous for the lane of parks that we call „The Green Horseshoe“ and it offers magnificent views. Over a hundred years old trees, fountains, buildings in Neoclassical and Art Nouveau styles, galleries, museums, and our National Theatre are some of the places that the locals love the most and this walk will show you what makes Zagreb a central European metropolis. By the end of the tour, we’ll take a break just like locals would – enjoying a cup of coffee (or tea) in a nice cafe.

Postojna Cave & Ljubljana: In the land of dragons

Postojna Cave & LjubljanaIn the land of dragons

Slovenia, a beautiful country set between Italy, Austria, Hungary and Croatia is known for its mountains, lakes, rivers and forests. First stop of our trip is the Postojna Cave, about 2,5h drive from Zagreb. A fantastic web of tunnels and halls, the astonishing diversity of Karst features, stalagmites that have been forming underground for thousands of years and creatures such as the olm, that live in the caves, guarantee to leave you breathless with wonder! After the visit to the cave, we continue the trip to Slovenia’s capital – Ljubljana.

Set alongside river Ljubljanica and below the castle atop a hill, Ljubljana offers a serene yet colourful atmosphere. Its centre has been closed for traffic so one can peacefully admire the beautiful architecture of buildings, Cathedral of St Nicholas or the many bridges across the river.  From the top of the hill, on a bright day, the view reaches the mountains in the distance, and with all the forests surronding the city, one can perfectly understand why it has been selected the 2016 Green Capital of Europe.

After some free time, we return to Zagreb.

Truffle hunting in Istria

Truffle huntingin Istria

Istria, the peninsula in the west of Croatia, is a beautiful region, home of great wine and cuisine. Many towns of the rocky coast and hilly inland were populated in the prehistoric times, with monuments dating back to ancient Roman and medieval times. Besides sunbathing and swimming in the sea, sailing or diving, the inland of the peninsula is attracting more and more visitors due to its hospitality and delicious food. Many local specialties include the traditional Istrian ox boskarin, pasta and truffles, that can be found in the surrounding forests. So we will start our Istrian tour by visiting surroundings of the town Buzet, joining professionals on the quest for truffles! The path through the enchanting forest surrounding the estate is full of natural rocks for climbing, waterfalls and the underground holds hidden treasures – truffles. After the search, you will learn how to prepare delicious traditional meals with truffles – like tartufata, omelette and desserts – and of course, eat them!

Afterwards, we continue the trip by visiting Hum. With a population of around 20, Hum is the world’s smallest town. It is situated at the end of the road that tells the history of the alphabet Glagoljica, and connects it to the nearby Roč. In Hum, you can taste a special kind of herb and mistletoe grappa, made after the original, 2000 years old recipe.

After this delicious tour in the heart of Istria, we return to Zagreb.
